When outerwear prices actually drop
Outerwear follows a predictable rhythm at department stores. New season stock lands in early autumn at full price, the first real markdowns arrive with the first sustained cold week, and the deepest cuts come after the winter holidays when the floor space is needed for spring ranges. If you can wait until late January you will usually do better, but the size and colour you want is also the first thing to disappear, so a mid-season markdown on the exact jacket you want often beats a deeper cut on one that has already gone.
